each week we meet and chat with tons of passengers. about a month ago we met julian. he was on his 12th cruise and he is 11 years old. julian and his family are from montreal and only cruises with norwegian. each time he comes on a cruise he's seen all the shows, he knows the lay out of the ships so he has to look for something new to do. we met him at the blue lagoon, a 24 hour comfort food restaurant on the ship. he was working as both a manager and a waiter. it blew our minds. he told us that each ship he goes on he finds a new place to "work," he's worked with the photographers, the housekeeping staff and now he was working at the blue lagoon.
and he really was working. they had given him an NCL polo and he borrowed someone's card so he could punch in orders. he filled water glasses and seated people and he ended up joining us and asking us what i estimate to be hundreds of questions. but the end of the week came, we said goodbye and we cursed ourselves for not getting a picture with him.
THEN...to our surprise this past cruise julian was back. his 13th cruise. he was taller and a little more grown up, which made us feel like we had been on the ship for 200 years. but we got our picture. and this time he got his very own name tag. (his job on this cruise was with the "washy washy" people sanitizing hands at the garden cafe.
